Scrapbook - Love, Us and Togetherness

Hi Friends,

Its the month of love! And I was more than delighted to make a scrapbook for my friend who is about be be married soon. She wanted to gift it to her fiance as a token of her love by putting together all the beautiful moments of their courtship - The stolen glances, the love notes , the sweet nothings!

And I have to admit here that when the people for whom the craft is being made are awesome , the craft comes out to be so much more better :).

Its a scrapbook - collection of photos, blank spaces to write messages, pockets to hold secret messages, creative ways to glide through the pictures and lots of lovely little things.. I'll let the pictures do the talking now.

Also , through this post I would like to thank Erum of Glitter n Swirls fame for being my biggest motivation. Her work is one of the most beautiful I have seen in the crafts world. Thanks again Erum if you are reading this :)

Hugs and love to one and all,

Guest Designing for Sentimental Sundays - Feb 9 , 2014

Hello All,

Sharing the second card which I have made for the Sentimental Sundays blog :) I am enjoying every bit of the the new crafting technique - Stamping!. Thanks much Calypso for giving me the opportunity.

For this card I was given the stamp of a Ballerina - All engrossed in dancing to the tunes of the music in her life.I was asked to add Sparkles, Blings and Buttons.

This is a all purpose card for any occasion. This one in particular has its edge decorated with blue ribbon plaited into a ballerinas braid. The background paper has bling all over it and I have added some wooden buttons to add to the charm. I have colored the ballerina to be an Asian one - dusky with black hair :P . And I loved how it has come out to be. I have added sparkles to its hair band, shoes and her flowy skirt too.

The card opens to show the sentiment - "Never stop dancing to the music in your heart"

Guest Designing for Sentimental Sundays - Feb 2 , 2014

Hi Friends,

I am back from my vacation and wanted to share this special news that Calypso from Sentimental Sundays has given me a chance to Guest Design for her blog for the month of February .. yoohooo!

For these cards I was asked specifically to use stamps - something very new for me . For the card for week 1 , I chose a Birthday Cake stamp. Apt because my sister-in-law's birthday was approaching and I had to make a card for the theme - Birthday Card for a special Women.

I have created this birthday card for a wonderful person who deserves every bit of happiness in her life. Hope this card adds to some of it :) I have used pastel colors like lavender and cream , stamped it with pretty baby pink ink and used pearls to decorate around the stamp. Pink and purple colored ribbons add to its femininity.

Book Of Love!

Hi Friends,

A quick post today to share with you a Album which we made for my Bhaiya and Bhabhi's Marriage Anniversary :)

Its the Book of Love as we call it. The new age album with space to put in photos as well as wishes from our loved ones. The book is covered with glittery yellow paper and is adorned with embellishments like pearls, butterflies, flowers and velvet paper.

The inside has 10 pockets which are stamped from outside. They have 1 red color tag each which have photo on one side and a sentiment on the other.

Hugs to All,
Rohini :)

Memory Keepers

Hi Friends,

A quick post today to share with you a "Memory Keeper" which I made for my grandpa.
I wanted to make something for him which would bring back all the memories of his children and grand children through all these years. Not an album of course because its too common. So i came up with the idea of this - Memory Keepers!

These are basically tags on a ring binder. They have photographs on one side and beautiful and loving family quotes on the other. They are easy to store - Bedside table , Glass Cupboards , near your book shelf ! Very handy and a constant reminder that there are many people whose thought you fill and prayers you are a part of.

I made them on colorful surfaces on one side and a plain surface on the other . Held them together with a binder and lo - its done!

Hugs and Cheers!

Happy Birthday - Napkin fold card!

Hello Friends,

2nd post of the day!

Special fold cards always inspire me to try them . Tri-shutter was the first one and now this. Here I would like to share the Napkin Fold card which I made for a friends birthday. My better half and me were in a dilemma about what to gift our friend and my husband finally suggested - handmade it should be!
So the search for the proper card type began and after surfing the net for Special Fold Cards, I came upon this. Its quite simple but when layered with beautiful coordinating and contrasting colors , it looks almost magical. Also since it was supposed to be made for a guy we kept the colors and shape to be - blue and geometric. So nothing explicit but totally masculine!

I have used pearls here to embellish the corners and some pretty patterned paper to cover the cross sections. The center part has a background image stamped in it which reads Happy Birthday. I have added 2 corners to it too.

The card is held together with a band which has a sentiment written on it - Happy Birthday. It is tied together with a flurry of colorful ribbons. Our friend really liked it :)

Hope you had a good time going through the pics.

Happy New Year 2014 - Desk Calendar!

Dear Readers,

First things first : Wish you all a very Happy New Year 2014 . Hope this year brings to the best of everything - Health, Wealth, Joy and Prosperity :)

Now coming on to the first craft item of the year - 2 desktop calendars! Yes , I made 2 of them - one for my parents and the other for my grandpa They are more or less same with a little difference that the one for my grandpa has larger prints so that he has no difficulty see it. And the one for my parents has pictures and quotes on it too.

Now the calendar has 12 leafs - 1 for each month. Every alternate leaf is the same color and I have incorporate 2 colors here - cream and black. The back stand as such is patterned paper with delicate paper work at the bottom. I made a flap for both the calendars with golden color paper and embellished it withe the sentiment - Happy New Year - which I fuzzy cut.

The calendar as such is on cream background with a flurry of bright colors. But my better half did his bit and added some touches of colorful coordinating glitter so that now it sparkles! Doesn't it look wonderful :)

And then at the bottom of each of the leaf, I have stuck some die cuts to the near end and left some portion hanging. It gives the leaf a good look I would say! Then on the alternate leaves, I have pasted some family pics and on the others, some family quotes, have a look. The leaves have also been embellished with cream color pearls at the sides. And then everything comes together with the help of binders.

Closer look of the shadow work of glitters.

Hope you had a great time going through the pics. Have a great year ahead.
