Guest Designing for Sentimental Sundays - 16 Feb

Dear blog friends,

Hello again and Happy Valentines day to all of you. This post is to show you another Book of Love which I made for a friend who wanted to gift something special to her husband. Since it was a 2 day notice only I used all the material I had at home - scraps , papers, ribbons and look, it turned out be so beautiful! My better half and I l enjoyed working on this a lot :)

It has a Heart Stamp and an apt sentiment on the front. The pockets are punched at the border. The tags and distressed at the edges and I have added a faux stitching effect to it. The tags have pictures on one and quotes on the other side.

 Love to all,
Rohini :)

Scrapbook - Love, Us and Togetherness

Hi Friends,

Its the month of love! And I was more than delighted to make a scrapbook for my friend who is about be be married soon. She wanted to gift it to her fiance as a token of her love by putting together all the beautiful moments of their courtship - The stolen glances, the love notes , the sweet nothings!

And I have to admit here that when the people for whom the craft is being made are awesome , the craft comes out to be so much more better :).

Its a scrapbook - collection of photos, blank spaces to write messages, pockets to hold secret messages, creative ways to glide through the pictures and lots of lovely little things.. I'll let the pictures do the talking now.

Also , through this post I would like to thank Erum of Glitter n Swirls fame for being my biggest motivation. Her work is one of the most beautiful I have seen in the crafts world. Thanks again Erum if you are reading this :)

Hugs and love to one and all,
Rohini :)

Happy Birthday - Napkin fold card!

Hello Friends,

2nd post of the day!

Special fold cards always inspire me to try them . Tri-shutter was the first one and now this. Here I would like to share the Napkin Fold card which I made for a friends birthday. My better half and me were in a dilemma about what to gift our friend and my husband finally suggested - handmade it should be!
So the search for the proper card type began and after surfing the net for Special Fold Cards, I came upon this. Its quite simple but when layered with beautiful coordinating and contrasting colors , it looks almost magical. Also since it was supposed to be made for a guy we kept the colors and shape to be - blue and geometric. So nothing explicit but totally masculine!

I have used pearls here to embellish the corners and some pretty patterned paper to cover the cross sections. The center part has a background image stamped in it which reads Happy Birthday. I have added 2 corners to it too.

The card is held together with a band which has a sentiment written on it - Happy Birthday. It is tied together with a flurry of colorful ribbons. Our friend really liked it :)

Hope you had a good time going through the pics.

Farewell - Tri Shutter Card

 Hi Friends ,

I made this Tri-Shutter card after being inspired from a lot many other bloggers and going through many tutorials. It is very simple and easy to make and the end result is totally fabulous.
I made it on black back ground and on the front side adorned it with pretty papers, sentiments and embellishments.
On the backside I added empty tags for writing down wishes. It was basically a Farewell card for one of my team mates and she absolutely loved the thought that in today's age of e-greetings some one had actually hand-made her a card!

Hope you all like it!
